I am a post-doc
in theoretical chemistry/physics
working in the Group of Helge Rosner,
in
Chemical Metal Science

Research Topics during my post-doc (2004-2005):

  • Calculation of the electronic structure of solids within  the Density Functional Theory
  • Model Hamiltonians for structural and magnetic properties  of solids
  • Development of a module of the FPLO code for UV absorbtion spectra
  • Quantum molecular dynamics calculations (SIESTA)
  • The LDA+U method  for studying  the electronic and magnetic properties of antiperovskites containing rare earth metals
  • Electron correlation effects in low-dimensional magnetic   materials, especially cuprates
  • Superconductivity in CaSi2 and related compounds

Research Topics during my PhD (oct. 1999- june 2003):

  • Classical molecular dynamics simulations
  • Monte Carlo simulations
  • Coarse-grained models of amphiphiles and polymers
  • Lamellar phase of amphiphilic molecules
  • polymer-amphiphiles interactions
  • Thermal Fluctuations and defects in smectic liquid crystals
