IXS 2019 Poster Session Award Winner
Inelastic X-ray Scattering (IXS) is a powerful tool to study elementary excitations in matter, with a scope covering charge, orbital, spin and lattice degrees of freedom.
The 11th international conference on IXS hosted by Brookhaven National Laboratory, USA, brought together researchers from all over the world working in the field of inelastic x-ray scattering, providing a forum for scientists to present new discoveries and research related to resonant and non-resonant inelastic X-ray scattering. The conference program covered materials science topics ranging from quantum, energy, functional materials, to soft, glassy and biological materials. It also included studies in the time domains and under extreme and operando conditions, the latest developments in novel IXS instrumentation, experimental approaches and theories, and the future of IXS with storage ring upgrades and at new XFEL sources.
The IXS 2019 conference follows the traditions of the past IXS conferences at: Krakow, Poland (1992); Tokyo, Japan (1995); Montauk, USA (1998); Haikko, Finland (2001); APS, USA (2004); Awaji, Japan (2007); ESRF, France (2010); SLAC, USA (2013); NSRRC, Taiwan (2015), and Hamburg, Germany (2017).
We are very pleased to announce that Dr. Brett Leedahl was elected as the Poster Session Award Winner at the 11th International Conference on Inelastic X-ray Scattering (IXS 2019) held at Stony Brook, USA, in 24-28 June 2019, for excellence in scientific research on 'The origin of Ising Magnetism in Ca3Co2O6 unveiled by orbital imaging'. We congratulate Dr. Brett Leedahl on his success.
