Collaboration with National Synchrotron Radiation Research Center (NSRRC), Hsinchu, Taiwan extended
In early November, Mr. Tjeng, director at the Max Planck Institute for Chemical Physics of Solids, traveled to the National Synchrotron Radiation Research Center in Hsinchu, Taiwan. He signed there documents extending the cooperation agreement between the MPI CPfS and the NSRRC, which has been in place since 2011.
The agreement is formally titled "Memorandum of Understanding on the Investigation of the Electronic Structure of Strongly Correlated Materials" and is between the NSRRC and the MPI CPfS.
The group led by Prof. Tjeng and, in particular, Dr. Chun Fu (Roger) Chang, who accompanied him, operates the TPS 45A beamline at the NSRRC, where they perform photoemission spectroscopy (PES), angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy (ARPES), and X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS) experiments (s. x-ray-spectroscopies).
