IMPRS for Chemistry and Physics of Quantum Materials
In the International Max Planck Research School for Chemistry and Physics of Quantum Materials (IMPRS-CPQM), the MPI CPfS collaborates with Technische Universität (TU) Dresden and the University of St Andrews, Scotland to offer a PhD program on solid-state chemistry and condensed matter physics. By working together, we create a highly attractive overall package of PhD level research in an international environment.
Reflecting the diverse scope of research into quantum materials at MPI CPfS and its partner universities, IMPRS-CPQM is set up as an interdisciplinary PhD program. More specifically, we not only cross boundaries between physics and chemistry in a large number of research topics, but rather choose a dedicated collaborative approach between research groups, often from different disciplines. Our program builds on world-class research activities in quantum materials at the three institutions. Research projects are complemented by a variety of graduate courses and non-academic training to offer comprehensive interdisciplinary training.
More information about IMPRS-CPQM, in particular about the application procedure, can be found on our website http://imprs-cpqm.mpg.de/.
