Cluster ct.qmat

October 14, 2020

In the field of topological materials, scientists from Julius-Maximilians-Universität (JMU) Würzburg and Technische Universität Dresden (TUD) as well as from the MPI for Chemical Physics of Solids, and the MPI for the Physics of Complex Systems have been conducting research in the Cluster of Excellence ct.qmat since early 2019.

What does quantum physics tell us about time? And what does time have to do with Albert Einstein? The tenth QUANTube episode is all about the great thinker and his theory of space and time - the theory of relativity. Erica Warth, a doctoral student in the Department of Quantum State Chemistry, explains how pendulum, quartz and atomic clocks as well as navigation devices work, why moving clocks go slower and when a long car fits into a short garage in the video series for the game app &quot;Cat Q - a quantum adventure&quot; of the Würzburg-Dresden Cluster of Excellence ct.qmat.<br />&nbsp;
