Job Offer from June 24, 2021
The Department of Chemical Metals Science and the REALM Group at the Max Planck Institute for Chemical Physics of Solids in Dresden offers a full time
Postdoctoral position (m/f/d)
Requirements
- comprehensive background in solid-state chemistry, with an emphasis on synthesis of inorganic materials;
- the majority of time will be spent in the specially equipped laboratory, with an opportunity to learn several sample quality as well as physical property characterization techniques;
- one of our research efforts is targeted at the synthesis of high-quality solid-state materials;
- the preparation of these compounds and alloys is frequently complicated by elemental immiscibility, high melting temperatures or vapor pressures of constituent elements, coupled with other experimental constraints;
- this project will use unconventional chemical synthesis techniques in order to prepare single-phase, defect-free samples of several strongly correlated systems;
- most of the work will be done in-house, with several inter- and intra-departmental collaborations.
Qualifications and skills
- completed university degree and PhD in the field of chemistry;
- ability to work in the team and at the interdisciplinary level;
- good knowledge in spoken and written English.
Our offer
- work in advanced chemical laboratories;
- multifaceted scientific tasks.
In addition, we offer remuneration analogous TVöD (federal government) with 39-hour working week, 30 days of holiday as well as annual bonus and social benefits (VBL).
The Max Planck Society strives for gender equity and diversity. We welcome applications from all backgrounds.
