Claudia Felser appointed a Foreign Member of the Royal Society

Prof. Claudia Felser has been honoured with election as a foreign member of the British Academy of Sciences, the Royal Society of London.
Founded in 1660, the Royal Society is the oldest academy of sciences in the world. With Professor Andrew Mackenzie (Fellow since 2015), there are now two directors at the Max Planck Institute for Chemical Physics of Solids who belong to this illustrious circle.
Among the Fellows and Foreign Members of the Royal Society appointed this year are three other members of the Max Planck Society in addition to Claudia Felser: Prof. Asifa Akhtar (MPI for Immunobiology and Epigenetics, Vice President of the Max Planck Society like Prof. Felser), Prof. Ulman Lindenberger (MPI for Human Development and Education) and Prof. Detlef Lohse (MPI for Dynamics and Self-Organisation). The award will be presented to them on 11 July 2025 in London during an official ceremony.
