Honour for Professor Andy Mackenzie
Professor Andy Mackenzie has been elected to Fellowship of the UK’s Academy of Sciences, the Royal Society of London, for his work on the physics of correlated electrons.
Founded in 1660, the Royal Society is the world’s oldest academy of sciences, and this year’s election also honoured Professor Ali Alavi, recently moved to the Max Planck Society from the University of Cambridge. Andy and Ali join George Coupland, Tony Hyman, Stuart Parkin, Philip Russell and Simon White as members of both the Max Planck and Royal Societies.
