GDCh Poster award for Chia-Chi Yu

IMPRS-CPQM student Chia-Chi Yu won a poster Prize at the 21st GDCh Conference on Inorganic Chemistry, Solid-State Chemistry, and Materials Research in  Marburg (September 27-28, 2022).

We congratulate IMPRS-CPQM student Chia-Chi Yu for winning the poster prize at the 21st GDCh Conference on Inorganic Chemistry, Solid-State Chemistry, and Materials Research in Marburg (September 26-28, 2022). Chia-Chi presented his research on the new intermetallic compound Na₂Ga_7, which is part of his doctoral thesis. Na₂Ga₇ constitutes a network of Ga₁₂^2– and Ga^– anions in which the Na atoms occupy the channels and cavities. The crystal structure was analyzed by single-crystal X-ray diffraction data and quantum chemical structure optimization. The preparation was achieved after detailed studies of the phase relations in the Na-Ga system.
