Ricardo dos Reis heading new Max Planck Partner Group in Brazil

8. August 2019

Dr. Ricardo D. dos Reis, a former postdoctoral fellow in the department of Physics of Quantum Materials at the Max Planck Institute of Chemical Physics of Solids, will head the newly established Max Planck Partner Group based at SIRIUS, the Brazilian Synchrotron Light Laboratory, LNLS, in Campinas, Brazil. He will use synchrotron-based X-ray techniques to explore strongly correlated electron and topological materials under extreme conditions of temperature, magnetic field, and pressure. The aim is to take advantage of the new possibilities, i.e. high brilliance and small X-ray beam size, at the 4th generation synchrotron SIRIUS in order to develop new approaches and combine synchrotron techniques with electrical transport and other bulk probes in close collaboration with the Max Planck Institute of Chemical Physics of Solids in Dresden, Germany.
