Move to Bonn - professorship for Johannes Gooth

Congratulations to Prof. Dr. Johannes Gooth, who took up the chair for experimental condensed matter physics at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn on February 1, 2022. Johannes with his independent Max Planck research group "Nanostructured Quantum Matter" was an essential part of our institute.

Here in Dresden, he has conducted cutting-edge physics research on topological materials that will influence the field for many years to come. Among other things, he and his group have succeeded in detecting axion quasiparticles, extending quantum Hall physics into the third dimension and explored the gravitational anomaly in Weyl semimetals.

Luckily for us, Johannes will maintain a long-term collaborative affiliation with the institute. Many innovative and challenging years together await us!
