SCES Poster Prize for Rahel Ohlendorf
 

Congratulations to Rahel Ohlendorf on receiving a poster prize at this year’s SCES conference (Strongly Correlated Electron Systems) in Montreal, Canada.
 

Her poster, titled “Tuning the Octupolar Degrees of Freedom in the Altermagnetic Candidate MnF₂ by Strain and Magnetic Field”, explores the unusual properties of a novel class of magnetic materials known as altermagnets. By applying uniaxial strain and magnetic fields, she aims to reveal the presence of complex octupolar degrees of freedom. The prize committee recognized her work as an outstanding contribution to the field of strongly correlated electron systems.
